Event Description
In areas where dangerous quantities of flammable gas or vapor and combustible dust may be present, the suitable protective measures are needed applying in order to reduce the risk of explosions. Not only equipment is concerned, the personnel also need to be aware and possess the right knowledge and competency to work properly and safely on their duties.
The EN/IEC 60079-14 recommends that the design of the installation, the selection of equipment and the erection for explosive atmospheres shall be carried out only by persons whose training has included instruction on the various types of protection and installation practices, relevant rules and regulations and on the general principles of area classification. Appropriate continuing education or training shall be undertaken by personnel on a regular basis.
Technical standards and directives related to hazardous areas used in the European Union and many other parts of the world have direct effect on manufacturers of machines, electrical equipment and systems, as well as installers, inspectors and end users. As standards are regularly updated, it is critical for the personnel to be up to date with the changes.
Why attend?
Attendants will gain knowledge about basic principles of explosion protection, Ex-equipment, requirements of standard series EN/ IEC 60079 to achieve safe operation with Hazardous Areas. The course is conducted in classroom format with quizzes and encouraged participation.
