Event Description

ABOUT ASIA ARTS FESTIVAL

Asia Arts Festival (AAF) is all about the excitement of performing.

Now in its 5th year, AAF has attracted participants from the region and around the world. With performers from over 14 countries such as China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam to as far as the United Kingdom and Russia, AAF remains a unique open platform for aspiring talents from all ages to validate their skills and art before an international panel of adjudicators. Participants are awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze trophies and certificates of participation for their performances.

AAF presents an opportunity for performers to take on the regional stage in an encouraging and nurturing environment. Performers around the region get to interact and learn from each other, building their confidence and forming new friendships.

AAF 2017 will be held at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore.

CATEGORIES

Participants may present their performance in the following types: Instrumental (eg: Western or ethnic, piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion), dance and vocal.


Participants may perform in any of the following categories: (1) Solo/Duet, (2) Trio/Quartet, (3) Small Group and (4) Large Group.**Participation date is subject to change. Please note that participants must adhere to the designated performance schedule. For more information, please visit www.asiaartsfestival.com.



*The fees shown only applies to applications received in Singapore. Participants applying from overseas should check with their local organisers and/or tour agents for the relevant fees.

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATION

The closing date for application is: 5th June 2017. Extended till 19th June 2017. 

COPA ASIA

The word ‘COPA’ in Spanish means cup or trophy. At the Asia Arts Festival, the word ‘COPA’ is also an acronym for ‘Champions of Performing Arts’.

Any school or institution that is represented across three or more performing arts genres in the Small and/or Large Group categories will qualify to compete for the COPA ASIA trophy which will be awarded to the participant with the best aggregate score.

FOUNDER & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Francis Liew is an accomplished choral director who is no stranger to the choral scene in Singapore. Francis has performed with and conducted numerous award winning choirs. The Asia Arts Festival (AAF) is the result of more than 30 years of his musical pursuits. AAF reflects his desire to bring together the diversity of performing arts into a single platform for performers to showcase their talents.

FESTIVAL PARTNERS

The RICE Company Limited (TRCL) is a not-for-profit organisation that harvests the potential of the arts and culture for the development of human lives and connects communities in Singapore with the world.
