21世紀が成熟するにつれて、アジア主要都市はどのような役割を担っていくのでしょうか。1980年代、国際金融産業の急速な発展に伴い、ニューヨーク・ロンドン・東京がその高い都市力をもって世界の「三極構造」を形成しました。しかし1990年代以降、上海、シンガポール、ソウル、そして香港が劇的な経済成長を遂げ、都市としても急速に成長しつつあります。このセッションでは、東京、上海、そしてシンガポールの都市の専門家をお招きし、アジアの主要都市の未来と成長戦略について議論します。

As the 21st century progresses, how will Asia’s major cities fare? With the rapid growth of global financial industries in the 1980s, “New York, London and Tokyo” formed a “global triangle” of urban power. However, after the 1990s, Shanghai, Singapore, Seoul and Hong Kong experienced rapid urban growth led by dramatic economic change. In this session, urban experts from Tokyo, Shanghai, and Singapore, are invited to discuss the future of Asia’s leading cities and the urban strategies that will carry them forward.
