Event Description

* Japanese-English simultaneous interpretation available

Over the last couple of years an invisible virus has stolen our everyday, dramatically disrupting our way of life, and our state of mind. Listen to the Sound of the Earth Turning explores the realities of living with this new pandemic era, and also the nature of “wellbeing,” i.e., the holistic health of both body and mind, from some of the multiple perspectives found in contemporary art. To coincide with the exhibition's opening, as part of the Mori Art Museum learning program we have planned a two-day symposium inviting a range of experts to join us, alongside members of the public, for face-to-face discussion on the issues interrogated by the exhibition.

On day one, these leading figures in their fields will be invited to join a discussion on the concept of wellbeing - that is, "living well" - from the perspective of their respective areas of expertise. And on day two, three artists featured in the exhibition will delve further into ideas around the connection between art and wellbeing. Don't miss this opportunity to think about what "living well" means to you.
